On September 29 & 30, 2012, Los Angeles’ artistic community united in response to Carmageddon II with the creation the largest citywide art party Los Angeles had ever seen. All weekend artists and arts organizations welcomed their neighbors, the major roadways stayed clear, and people all over celebrated the idea, “Less Car. More ART.”
​
Hundreds of artists, arts organizations, civic leaders, community partners, and government organizations united to create ARTmageddon, including the City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs, Experience LA, LA Stage Alliance, ForYourArt, Metro, the Los Angeles Downtown Arts District (LADAD), but at the core of ARTmageddon was the following all-volunteer team of artists and arts advocates living in Los Angeles.
